Where did it all start?
Lyceum
I started studying programming in the 8th grade , studying at the city physics and mathematics lyceum at the Zhytomyr State University of Technology (now Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University). During my studies, I took part in almost all olympiads and competitions in IT and programming and won prizes. At that time I was writing in the Pascal language, like most of my peers at that time.
In the 10th grade I started learning the C++ programming language, and in the 11th grade - C#. In C#, he wrote a translation system from the decimal numbering system to the Fibonacci system and to the binary system - and he was terribly proud of himself! :) With my "converter" I even won the city and regional stages of the competition for the defense of scientific research works of students who are members of the Small Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and became a participant in the final all-Ukrainian stage of the MAN competition. π I believed that computers built on the system Fibonacci, would work faster than the binary number system.
Because I became interested in the innards of computers, but at heart I was always a programmer, not a computer engineer.π
KPI
In the National Technical University of Ukraine "KPI named after I. Sikorsky" we studied more the structure of computers and counted zeros and ones.π But there was also a place for programming - I learned Python and a little Java. Since I already knew something about programming, it wasn't too difficult for me to write the codes.
The program at the university is not at all what happens in real work, so it was necessary to decide on one area of ββdevelopment. I discovered the WEB. I chose a project in the field of web programming for my thesis. What was the plan? :)
- Remember what layout is
- Learn PHP
- Understand how databases work
- Fill in the project on AWS (a task from my boss, and it was not very easy at the time)
- Find a job, because now I am such a cool programmer π
FREELANCE
The first project was developed for an acquaintance who works in the field of tourism and organizes and conducts tours to Cyprus. After discussing all the details, we settled on the fact that we need 2 sites: a business card site and a site-catalogue of tours to Cyprus - and both should be made in yellow colors.π
The next project was a business card site for a medical clinic. The design was created based on a competitor's reference. For the stack I chose PHP and HTML/CSS/JS.After the development of the main page, the project was closed because the client was from a country that is now too embarrassing to name.
A little later, a singer from Canada approached me KETRAH with a request to create her own site for her. It was my first experience of communication with a foreign client. π We met to discuss the details, choose the color scheme and content of the site. I created the design in Figma, that's how I got to know this application. After agreeing and making edits, I started development. Wordpress was chosen for the stack because most foreign clients work with this platform. Judging by the fact that the client later turned to me for website development for the art space "Greycat.studio" , she liked everything.π This site was already created using Laravel and Vue.js frameworks.
There is an unspoken rule - "Fail 10 interviews - and get a job on the 11th!". That's what happened to me. I got into a great team Digiants. This is where everything really began. I actually fell in love with programming!
From day one, of course, I I practically did not understand, but I knew where I was going - to the first job, to which you just need to give yourself completely. This is where I plunged headlong into work! I didn't leave and still don't leave the computer, getting real pleasure and enjoyment from what I do!
I got to know things like Laravel, Vue, Wordpress and learned about a lot of cool features in development.
But more to come...
